our story

If you didn't know already, we Kiwis love our pies.  They're different to British pies in that they're made with buttery flakey pastry and packed with a super tasty filling. The test of a good Kiwi pie is that you should be able to eat them in your hand without the inside running down your arm.
After moving to the UK and failing to find a pie that hit the spot, I decided it was time to start making them myself

Luckily, expert pie making was in my DNA*. So the family recipes were passed down and when I started testing them out on our neighbours and friends they went down a storm

After a couple of years of honing and perfecting the recipes, my wife Susanne and I launched our first market stall in 2018 selling authentic Antipodean pies in all my favourite flavours

As well as many Kiwis and Aussies missing the pies of home we've got a rapidly growing British fanbase who've discovered the joys of the Antipodean pie

Our name Piha (pron: Pee-ha) Pies comes from my favourite surf beach in New Zealand on the west coast of the North Island . A perfect day at Piha is always accompanied by an awesome pie or two from the legendary Piha Store

I hope you enjoy our pies - Jeremy
